Tughra is a symbol or signature that includes the sultan's name and nickname. Tughra is a branch of calligraphy that has been written by master calligraphers for centuries. In Turkish, it means a special sign containing the sultan's name, a signature of the sultan. The original word, tugra, is in the Oghuz dialect and means the printed signature of the sultan. The first tugra used by Orhan Gazi consists of the expression Orhan bin Osman. The first of the tugras is dated 1324 and the other is dated 1348.
